BforWINE present at TOP WINE CHINA in Beijing on 4-5-6 of june 2012
CEO Chateau Latour Frederic Engerer announced to its dealers that the wines from the estate will not be sold en primeur anymore from 2012.
This change will take effect next year because the
First Great Classified Growth in 1855 wants to leave one year for traders to organize themselves and not be the target of unfair trial for breach of contract.
This change must allow Latour to counter the speculative excesses of the primeur products, which ultimately affect the quality of wines and therefore the image of the iconic castle: "The system is used primarily to futures dealers who supply the speculation: chateau Latour was sold and resold, with random storage conditions, well before its peak and it is impossible to guarantee quality. Now the wine is kept in the castle.
In addition, each bottle will be provided with the system Prooftag. This solution ensures traceability for each bottle.
